Communist Party of India (Marxist) has announced that they would be picketing the Governor’s bungalow in the district on November 15. Subsequently, police personnel were deployed around the bungalow to prevent untoward incidents.
The announcement comes at a time when both CMP and CPI have been staging protests across the state condemning the activities of the Governor Arif Mohammed Khan in the state. After making statements that he would remove ministers from their post if they continue to criticize him, the Governor had recently written to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan asking him to remove the finance minister Balagopal from the post as he has been acting against his interest.
Refusing to do so, the Chief Minister wrote a reply stating that he has faith in his minister. Several political parties including Congress, Muslim league and left parties have condemned the Governor’s move.
