CREDAI Chennai and ICI-Chennai have concluded their inaugural Residential Building
Construction program for Civil Engineering students, marking the successful completion of
the month-long program. The program aimed to empower aspiring civil engineers to pursue
their entrepreneurial dreams in the construction field. Around 25 engineering students from
different colleges received certification, with an ambitious plan to train 40,000 engineering
students under the program in the coming years. The closing ceremony was graced by
dignitaries and industry experts who recognized the students' achievements and highlighted
the invaluable knowledge and skills gained through the transformative program.
Throughout the program, students received guidance and insights from renowned industry
leaders, including Mr. R. Jeyakumar, Chairman - Skill Development, Dr. T. Arul, Convenor -
Skill Development, and Mr. C. Kalyanasundaram, Supdt. Engineer – TnPWD (Tamil Nadu
Public Works Department). These industry veterans shared their profound knowledge and
experiences, inspiring students to think beyond traditional career paths and envision
themselves as future leaders in the construction sector.
The Residential Building Construction program offered a unique blend of practical insights
and hands-on experience, enabling participants to acquire essential skills and knowledge
required to embark on their entrepreneurial journey. Students were elated about the
knowledge-packed sessions, with Ms. Lakshmi Priya, pursuing M.E. in Structural
Engineering at Eswari Engineering College, describing it as a great opportunity for learning
concepts and designs in a quick way.
The successful conclusion of the first batch of the Residential Building Construction program
reaffirms CREDAI Chennai's commitment to fostering the growth and development of the
construction industry. The program not only equips students with the necessary skills but also
