Crop loan on same day: A Pioneering project!

Under the instant crop loan scheme launched by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Dharmapuri yesterday, farmers can get loans of up to Rs 5 lakh from cooperative credit societies. For this, farmers can apply online and receive the crop loan amount immediately in their bank accounts. This scheme has brought happiness to the farmers as it will reduce unnecessary hassle and delay.
If you go to the banks and apply, it can take at least 7 days. Currently, through this scheme, crop loans are available on the same day of application. The maximum amount available is up to Rs. 5 lakh. The scheme, which has been launched in Dharmapuri district, is soon to be expanded to other districts. The loan will be credited to the bank account itself.
A very simple system has been developed for farmers to apply for crop loans at their nearest Common Service Center or online using their Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society membership number or District Central Cooperative Bank savings account number.
The Secretary of the concerned Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society, the Field Manager and the Branch Manager of the Central Cooperative Bank will verify the details of the farmers through their computers and credit the loan amount to the farmers' bank accounts on the same day.
This online loan scheme will be expanded to all districts this year. It has been announced that this scheme will be expanded to include other types of loans, such as loans for self-help groups, small and micro business loans, and other types of loans, which can be applied for and obtained online, within the current year.
