Cultural competition organized at GCT

The Government college of technology organised a two-day-long cultural competition - Muthamizh Vizha 2023 - at its premises in the city from October 27. It was organized by the Tamil Mandram and fine arts club of the college. The festival commenced with the book release ceremony by poet M Umamageshwari. It was followed by debate and group competitions. The competitions were judged by Dharanidharan, chairman of the Udal Veli Kalai foundation and a prominent actor, Kaliswaran, a fourth-generation Villupattu artist, Ram, a recipient of the Kalaichudar award, and Kalaiyarasan, the Young Bharathi awardee The Government College of Engineering in Salem secured the overall championship and it was followed by Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College in Coimbatore.
