Dalit leaders seek police protection

Society Justice People's Party  and many dalit outfits submitted a petition to the West Zone IG on August 22 to provide police protection to the Social Justice Party president Vadivel Raman.

They said that following a plea from Vadivel Raman and others, TN government banned BJP's Madurai Veeran golden chariot rally in TN. But, BJP, Hindu Makkal Katchi, etc filed a false complaint in Arachalur police station and a case was registered.

Aggrieved over it, on August 10, the casteist gang went into the house of Vadivel Raman and threatened to kill the family. In this regard, a complaint has been lodged at Arachalur Police Station to take appropriate action. 

They said that a case should be registered under the Prevention of SC ST Atrocities Act on those who threatened Vadivel Raman and wanted armed police security to him and his family.

 Social Justice People's Party President Erode Vadivel Raman, Dravida Tigers Party Organization President Baruai Saminathan, National Downtrodden People's Welfare Rights Movement President Marudachalam, Tamil Nadu Arundhatiyar Youth Front President Karunakaran, Arundhatiyar Youth Welfare Association President Raja, Maveeran Pollan Peravai General Secretary Shanmugam, Tamil Nadu Underprivileged Welfare Rights Movement President VPM Panneerselvam, Social Liberation Party Organization President MP Arumugam, and Social Justice People's Party executives Kannaiyan, Satish Babu, Muthukumar, Coimbatore District President Kannan, were present.
