The foundation stone laying ceremony was held on Wednesday for development works worth Rs. 6 crore, including the construction of a roof over the bus stand complex and the weekly market in Andhiyur.
A roof is being constructed at the Andhiyur Kamaraj Bus Stand complex at a cost of Rs. 2 crore under the Operation and Maintenance Gap Filling Fund Scheme and a roof is being constructed at the Andhiyur Weekly Market at a cost of Rs. 3.68 crore under the Capital Grant Fund Scheme. Also, two new classroom buildings are being constructed at the Thavittupalayam Government High School at a cost of Rs. 32 lakh.
These works were inaugurated by A.G. Venkatachalam, Member of Legislative Assembly of Andhiyur, performing boomi pooja ceremony.
Anthiyur Town Panchayat President M. Pandiammal, Vice President A.C. Palaniswami, and Erode District Town Panchayats Assistant Director Ganesan were present. Executive Officer A. Sadasivam welcomed the gathering.
