Devotees participate Kamatchi Amman festival during heavy rains at Coimbatore

Despite heavy rains, over 1,000 devotees enthusiastically participated in the 97th annual festival at the Kamatchi Amman Temple in Alanthurai, Coimbatore. The highlight of the festival, Alagukuthal and poochatty taking, took place last night, with devotees joining in a procession to pay their respects. Despite the downpour, devotees performed alagukuthal hanging from cranes and carried kavadis, showing their unwavering devotion to goddess Kamakshi.
The festival attracted thousands of devotees from different parts of the city, who braved the rain to participate in the highly acclaimed event. Traditional rituals such as Jamab, Kerala Sendai Melam, and Kerala Taiyam Aatam were also performed by devotees.
The festival concluded on its final day with the Manjal Neeratu Vizha and musical performances, marking the end of the annual celebrations at the Kamatchi Amman Temple.
