The Government of Tamil Nadu has implemented the ''Ennum Ezhuthum'' Literacy program to improve the learning capacity of students studying in government primary schools in Tamil Nadu. The training programme for teachers under it was launched last year to make elementary students fluent in reading by 2025.
The objective of this exercise is to improve the teaching. For this, second phase of training is being provided by the School Education Department to all types of teachers handling primary classes now.
As part of this, State Council Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Director Latha inspected the training programme held in a private school at Arachalur area for all primary school teachers in Modakurichi Union. At that time, she explained the purpose and importance of the training for the teachers. She advised the teachers to teach the lessons through dance, song and learning and teaching equipment so as to reduce the learning gap between the students and improve the learning ability of them.
She congratulated and praised all the teachers of Modakurichi Union for their excellent performance in the training. District Institute of Education Training (DIET) Principal Lakshmi Narayanan, Lecturer Murugesan, Erode District Elementary Education Officer Jyoti Chandrika, District Resource Center Supervisor Sudha, District Education Officers Sivanandham, Vanitharani and Suresh were present. The three-day training events were well organized by Modakurichi District Resource Center Teacher Trainers and Resource Persons.
