Dissemination workshop on assessment on the migrant workers

CARE T (Community Awareness Research Education Trust), Coimbatore has organized a dissemination workshop on its Assessment on the migrant workers in Tamil Nadu Textile region on March 7 at Coimbatore. 
The research study is conducted in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Karur and Dindigul districts. 

The migration, workforce, factors for migration and issues are explained by the Director of CARE T Mr. S.M. Prithiviraj. The methodology, scope, findings, recommendations and way ahead on this study is disseminated by Mr. Arivazhagan Rayan, consultant and researcher. 

Socio-economic

The findings of the study have reflected socio-economic status and the working environment of the migrant textile workers working in textile industry.  The majority of the migrant workers are from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Assam States. 

The workshop had active participation of researchers, lawyers, social workers and the academicians.  
Findings and Recommendations of the assessment on migrant workers were sent to the government for taking suitable action,  according to a release issued by M. Mothiraj, Programme Coordinator, CARE T, Coimbatore.
