DMDK stages stir against power tariff hike at Erode

Many DMDK cadres led by district secretary S Anandh staged a demonstration ar Erode on Thursday in protest against steep hike in power tariff for the 3rd consecutive year. 

Party women's wing state deputy secretary Vanitha Durai presided. In his speech, Anandh said that already the tariff was hiked many fold during the past 2 years. Now another hike was made affecting all sections of people. The MSMEs were in deep crisis due to the hike. As already house, water and power tariff was hiked, people were in great distress under the DMK rule. The present hike showed the inefficiency, corruption and maladministration in the TNEB. He also condemned non supply of dhall, Palm oil in rationshops and the government's inability to get Cauvery water from Karnataka. Party functionaries Suresh and Arumugam attended.
