DMK district secretaries’ meeting Resolution condemning ‘Vote rigging’ and Bihar SIR passed

DMK district secretaries’ meeting Resolution condemning ‘Vote rigging’ and Bihar SIR passed

A resolution has been passed at the DMK district secretaries’ meeting condemning the ‘vote rigging’ and ‘SIR’ (Special Serious Revision) activities that pose a threat to free and fair elections.
The DMK district secretaries’ meeting convened today (Aug. 13) at the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, in Chennai under the leadership of party president and CM M.K. Stalin. In this meeting, resolutions were passed condemning the ‘vote rigging’ and ‘SIR’ (Special Intensive  Revision) activities.
Resolution 1: Since the voter list is the basic document for the election process, this district secretaries’ meeting strongly emphasizes that it is very important for free and fair elections to prepare the voter list accurately and without errors.
Despite the strong opposition of all the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other parties against the Bihar Special Amendment Bill, which is destroying electoral democracy, and the Supreme Court itself warning that it will intervene in case of “mass deletion”, the Election Commission has arbitrarily deleted 65 lakh voters in the state citing property reasons, which is an anti-democratic move that is completely shaking the level playing field of the election.
The BJP, which is arrogant and has registered an FIR against the BJP’s “vote theft” in the election field, including Congress’s young leader Rahul Gandhi, who stopped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs who were marching to the Election Commission against the Bihar Special Amendment Bill (SIR) of the Election Commission, which is taking away the voting rights of citizens, and against the BJP’s “vote theft” in the election field with the support of the Election Commission at the all-India level, has stopped them.  The meeting of district secretaries strongly condemns the government and the ongoing biased actions of the Union BJP government and the Election Commission of India.
Resolution 2: - The Election Commission should accept the demands of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and conduct the elections in a fair manner. The Constitution has entrusted the Election Commission with the full responsibility of not only conducting the elections but also preparing the voters' list for the same, and it is very worrying that the Election Commission is not only involved in conducting the elections but also in preparing the voters' list after the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was removed from the selection committee for appointing Election Commissioners, but it is also a matter of great concern that the Election Commission is joining hands with the Union BJP government and supporting the BJP's tricks, making democracy questionable and ridiculous.
This District Secretaries' Meeting records that 5 MPs of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam met the Chief Election Commissioner of India on 17.7.2025 and submitted a detailed petition with five very important demands including “Deletion of dead voters”, “Integration with BLOs and BLAs”, “Issuance of compilation manuals in regional and local languages”, “Eliminating confusion in postal vote counting”, “Aadhaar card, family card, place of residence and date of birth should be made as proof documents”.
This District Secretaries' Meeting strongly urges the Election Commission to carry out the task of verifying and validating the voter list in an independent and honest manner before the start of the election procedures in other states including Tamil
Nadu.
Resolution 3: Thank you to all the party executives who made the slogan ‘3 Oraniyil Tamil Nadu’ ring in every family - and made the membership registration a huge success.
