'Do not place Hydraulic Emergency Doors on School Vehicles'

Hydraulic doors should not be fitted in school vehicles for children to exit during emergencies. Erode East, Erode West and Perundurai Regional Transport Offices conducted a safety check on 820 school vehicles at the Erode AET school premises on Tuesday. The officials said the safety exit doors should be easily operated from inside and outside and locks should not be kept inside. School vehicles must not exceed 40 km / h in cities 50 km / h in suburban areas. Drunkan  drivers would be published.

Cell phones while driving must be averted. The drivers must have at least five years of driving experience and must engage an assistant to carry children safely in the vehicle. They must have a conductor certificate .A CCTV camera in vehicles up to 30 children and two CCTV cameras for more children are must.

Every three years, when the driver's driving license is renewed, a doctor's certificate on eye sight is required. The height of the vehicle's footboard should be 25 to 30 cm. The window should be 55 to 70 cm.  3 fatal accidents would lead to cancellation of license. Drivers should treat the  school children as their own in the angle of safety. Driving is a service. 

Do not listen to the song while driving.  All of these rules  must be applicable for private vehicles carrying school children. Standees in such vehicles are not allowed.
