Dubai Economy boosts visitor arrivals by 23% in India's secondary markets

Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has increased its efforts to
showcase the destination through B2B travel trade engagements, including trade
workshops, mega familiarization trips, exhibitions, and road shows across India.
The goal is to position Dubai as the first-choice destination for Indian travelers,
benefiting from its close proximity and direct connectivity to Indian cities. The
results have been outstanding, with Dubai experiencing a 23% increase in
overnight visitor numbers during the first five months of 2023 compared to
2019.
Between January and June 2023, DET organized mega familiarization trips,
trade exhibitions, road shows, and trade workshops in metro cities. These
workshops provided comprehensive insights into Dubai's evolving tourism
landscape, featuring new and existing attractions, world-class hospitality, and
culinary experiences.
Over 350 participants attended the workshops. Dubai's Head of South Asia,
Bader Ali Habib, stated that India is a top priority for the DET, and their pan-
India outreach has yielded remarkable results, with a 23% increase in overnight
visitor numbers compared to 2019. With exceptional flight connectivity, a
convenient visa process, and on-going commitment to the Indian market, DET
is confident that their upcoming initiatives will further amplify awareness about
Dubai's diverse attractions, multicultural setting, and abundance of hotels and
attractions, making it the top choice for Indian tourists.
