Election Expenditure Observer holds meeting in Tiruppur

Election Expenditure Observer Sandeep Kumar Mishra organised a meeting on election expenditure in the Tiruppur constituency at the Tiruppur Collector Office, with Tiruppur Collector and District Election Officer T Christuraj in attendance on Friday.

The Election Commission has established various rules to be followed by political parties and candidates in preparation for the Lok Sabha elections. Monitoring units have been set up in each constituency to scrutinise the transportation of money exceeding the permitted limit without proper receipts. They are also tasked with monitoring the movement of liquor, drugs, or freebies at various checkpoints.

Additionally, these teams in the district are responsible for monitoring banners, posters, and advertisements distributed by political parties, and are required to submit regular reports to the electoral team. The Expenditure Observer directed officers to analyse the election candidates' expenditure and provide updates to the team. Tiruppur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Gupta and government officials were also present during the event.
