End to Fake News on Social Media!

End to Fake News on Social Media!

Social networking sites are the foremost channels of spreading rumours among people. Due to this many controversies and violence are occurring.  The Union Government is taking various measures to control social networking sites. Already websites, social networking sites, WhatsApp, etc. which publish fake and false news are being blocked.

Misinformation and news shared on social networking sites like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are creating confusion among people. Many people are starting their own YouTube channels on social media to express their views. Unnecessary problems are created because some people are posting controversial comments against the government and destabilizing the country.

Sometimes fake news can sway the current affairs of the country. Central government is taking steps to control this. More than 100 YouTube channels have been blocked since last December. Most of these YouTube channels are operated from Pakistan.

In this situation the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has decided to take strict action against them andYouTube channels spreading fake news against Indian sovereignty are being blocked and their promoters are prosecuted criminally. Strict measures can be taken without delay to put an end to fake news.Criminal legal action is welcome even thought it is a delayed step.
