EPS appeals to court seeking removal of `seal' to party HQ

AIADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has filed an appeal in the High Court seeking an order to remove the seal placed on the AIADMK office on Monday by Revenue Department officials following violent clash between supporters of Edappadi K Palanisamy (EPS) and O.Pannerselvam (OPS) 
Police beat the party men involved in the clash and dispersed them. Meanwhile, O. Panneerselvam and many of his supporters were still inside the party headquarters. After the clash, a large number of policemen were deployed in the area where the party headquarters is located and provided security.

Meanwhile, Joint Commissioner of Police Prabhakaran held a consultation with senior officials of the Revenue Department at Royapetta Police Station regarding bringing the law & order problem under control and the next steps. In this consultation it was decided to seal the AIADMK office.

Subsequently, Mylapore Deputy Commissioner Disha Mittal and Revenue Department officials met O. Panneerselvam and said that they will seal it.They asked him to leave. When he came out of the room, first the General Secretary's room and then the meeting hall were sealed. Subsequently, the entrance gate of the AIADMK headquarters was sealed.

In this scenario, a case has been registered against 400 people in connection with the riot that took place in front of the AIADMK office in Rayapetta, Chennai.Meanwhile, AIADMK Edappadi Palaniswami has filed an appeal in the High Court seeking an order to remove the seal placed on the AIADMK office. Senior Advocate Vijay Narayanan appeared before Madras High Court Judge Satish Kumar seeking an order to remove the seal placed on the AIADMK office. He requested that they file this case as an urgent case and take it up for hearing immediately.
