Erode Collector attends gram sabha meeting

A special Grama Sabha meeting was held on the occasion of "May Day" in Kunri Panchayat, Sathyamangalam Panchayat Union. District Collector Mr. Raja Gopal Sunkara attended as a special observer.
He Said that the Gram Sabha meeting is held every year on Republic Day, Independence Day, May Day and Gandhi Jayanti and on some important days. Accordingly, May Day Gram Sabha meetings are being held in 225 village panchayats in Erode district. In this meeting, matters including village panchayat and public fund expenditure, (from 01.04.2024 to 31.03.2025) online land division and building permission, obtaining building permission based on self-certification, ensuring online payment of tax and non-tax revenue items and other matters were discussed. Furthermore, decisions are being taken to ensure availability of government schemes under the Forest Rights Act and to convert villages into revenue villages. This will facilitate the availability of basic facilities including roads, drinking water and electricity in the future.
Also, a camp will be held in this area on May 9th through the Taluka District Magistrate. People can apply for a birth certificate at this camp and benefit from it. A birth certificate is an important requirement for students from the 10th standard public examination to higher education.  Therefore, I request you to submit the relevant documents to get a birth certificate at this camp held in their area instead of going directly to the Taluka office. Public can also apply for a new Aadhaar card, correction in Aadhaar card, change of name of patta if you own land under the Forest Rights Act, and inheritance certificate at this camp. 
The people of this area should take advantage of this facility. Under the Kalaignin Kanavu Illam scheme, beneficiaries can also apply for a house construction at this camp if they have a patta, he added.
