Erode MP inaugurates new buses on four routes

Erode MP K E Prakash today inaugurated new buses on four routes from Erode bus stand to Erode-Thanjavur, Tirupur-Madurai, Tirupur-Trichy, Erode-Madurai through the State Transport Corporation Erode Zone.
He said: The Tamil Nadu government is operating 65 new buses in the zone from 2021 to 25. This year, 59 new buses have been allocated and 35 buses are being operated. Another 4 suburban buses are ready to operate. 46 buses were renovated and operated in this zone from 2021 to 25. 
The cost of the new buses is Rs. 44 lakhs, the cost of the renovated bus is Rs. 15.50 lakhs. Women are benefiting from 34 city buses through the Tamil Nadu government's Mahalir Vidiyal Payanam scheme. 3.5 lakh people take the trip daily.
From 8.5. 2021 to May 2025, 4264.36 lakh women have taken the vidiyal trip in the zone.  From 14. 3.2024, the women's vidiyal journey has been started in a suburban bus in the Thalavadi hills. Due to this, 1.51 lakh women have benefited till May 2025 at the rate of 648 women per day. 
District Collector Rajagopal Sunkara, MLA Chandrakumar Mayor Nagarathinam Subramaniam deputy mayor Selvaraj  and many high officials of the TSTC participated in the program.
