Erode – Salem Diocese CSI Bishop Rt Rev Dr.Jacob Livingston unexpectedly fell from the flyover in Erode city this morning while walking. This incident has caused great sadness in the area.

Jacob Livingston, a native of Aruthozhuvu area near Kangeyam in Tiruppur district, took charge as the Erode – Salem Diocese Bishop on August 16, 2025. It seems that he had been suffering from ill health for the past few days and was undergoing treatment.
In this situation, this morning he was walking on the flyover near the Erode Government General Hospital.
At that time, due to sudden dizziness, he stumbled and fell from the flyover. He was seriously injured in this and died on the spot. The police, who were informed, seized his body and sent it for post-mortem and are conducting an investigation.

The late Bishop Jacob Livingston was effectively looking after the administrative work of the Diocese covering the districts of Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Kallakurichi. He is survived by his wife Helena Amuda and a daughter named Johanna, who is studying in college.
