Erode East Constituency MLA and former TNCC president EVKS Elangovan has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for treatment. Sources in the hospital said that he is suffering from respiratory distress and is undergoing continuous treatment. He was hospitalized in Chennai yesterday due to ill health. Doctors informed today that 75-year-old Elangovan is receiving continuous treatment and his condition is being closely monitored.
His condition is said to be stable. His son Thirumakan Eevera, who was the Congress MLA from Erode East assembly constituency, passed away last year. Subsequently, by-elections was held for that constituency in March last year. He contested on behalf of the Congress in the DMK alliance and won.
He secured 1 lakh 10 thousand 156 votes and won by a margin of 66,575 votes. A few months ago, he was admitted to the hospital due to chest pain and returned home after treatment. After that, EVKS Ilangovan continued to participate in party programs. It is in this condition that his health has been affected.
