Tirupur District Collector T Christuraj presided over the Farmers' Grievance Redressal Day meeting at the Collectorate on Friday.
In his speech, he said that the CM announced various schemes for the welfare of farmers and are implementing them well.
The normal annual rainfall of Tirupur district is 618.20 mm.
The amount of rain till date is 233.15 mm. It is 62.15 mm above average rainfall.
There is adequate supply of seeds of rice and other pulses for crop cultivation. Accordingly, 19.06 MT of paddy, 8.51 MT of minor millets, 37.85 MT of pulses and 24.21 MT of oilseeds are in stock. Urea 3038 MT, D.A.P. 1123 metric ton, complex 6013 metric ton and super phosphate 694 metric ton are in stock. He directed the officials to take immediate action on all the demands of the farmers without any delay.
He received 340 petitions from the farmers and visited the various exhibition halls organized by the Department of agriculture.
In this meeting, District Revenue Officer Mr. D. P. Jaibeem, Joint Director (Agriculture) (in charge) Ms. Krishnaveni, and many officials attended.
