FATIA plea to withdraw 5 percent GST on Food Items

A resolution has been passed in the meeting of the Federation of All Trade and Industry Associations of Erode District (FATIA) in Erode demanding the Centre to withdraw the 5 percent GST on food products.

The Executive Committee meeting of it was held at its office on Wednesday.  FATIA President Rajamanickam, General Secretary Ravichandran and Treasurer Muruganandam presided.

It said the GST and electricity tariff hike will affect the people and industry in a big way so that they should be withdrawn. Erode Municipal Corporation should complete vegetable  market construction work at RKV road speedily and shift the market from VOC Ground to there.

The police should increase patrolling on the highways  to check the increasing  number of robberies.
The court has ruled that textile traders in Erode can hire workers of their choice to load and unload goods. So, the police should provide adequate security to perform that task.

To control traffic congestion on Perundurai road in Erode city, the district administration should take steps to construct a flyover work from Kalingarayan guest house to  Thindal as soon as possible.

The government agriculture regulated market levies  1 per cent cess on goods procured outside the state.  As a result, businessmen will avoid doing business in Tamil Nadu and go to neighboring states to do business.
Therefore, the cess should be withdrawn.

Union Ministry of Textiles should create a textile park in Erode district as well under its mega textiles project.
Levying permanent fee on Nett meter for Solar power generation should be withdrawn.

The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents Dhanapalan, Chandrasekaran, Rajamanickam, Joint Secretaries Murthy, Palaniswami, Jebri and members of the association.
