The Federation of All Industries and Trade Associations of Erode District (FATIA)'s 4-day industrial and trade fair will begin at Parimalam Mahal in Erode on May 2.
Ministers Muthusamy and Anbarasan will inaugurate the exhibition, said Federation President V K Rajamanickam.
He said: Out of the total 210 halls, the central and State governments are providing a subsidy of Rs 32,000 as rental fee for 110 halls. Erode district has received the highest subsidy in Tamil Nadu through this exhibition. The main objective of this exhibition is to set up a large industrial trade fair hall like the one in Coimbatore in Erode district in the future. For this, we have requested 10 acres of land from the government. If the land is available, a trade center will be set up through the association. A total of 30 women entrepreneurs are participating in this exhibition. If they are registered under the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, they will get 100 percent subsidy from the Central and State governments (stall rental at the exhibition). This exhibition is being held without profit motive. Therefore, there is no entry fee. Last year, a profit of Rs. 5 lakh was made. That was also used for social service projects and m conduct special training courses for traders and factory owners. Special prizes will be given to stalls set up with new technology and new ideas at the exhibition. Apart from this, competitions for students, medical camps and cultural programs will be held. After this, a state-level meeting of buyers and sellers through small and medium enterprises will be held in Erode.
District Collector Rajagopal Sunkara will attend the opening ceremony, while District SP Sujatha and several MPs and MLAs will participate in the closing ceremony.
