Thai Mann (Mother Land) Yathra organized by Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association and Chakra Vision India Foundation Trust started an event of taking soil from the birthplaces of the freedom fighters of India at Chennimalai, the birthplace of Tirupur Kumaran, a martyr, on Nov 2. The foundation plans to build Memorial walls in 75 historical places from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with the name of 1040 martyrs in connection with the 75th I-Day celebration.The first wall will be built in Puducherry seashore and declared open by PM shortly.
Thai Mann Yathra is a grand pilgrimage to build the memorials walls for great freedom fighters. Puducherry Legislative Assembly Speaker Honorable R. Selvam inaugurated the Thai Mann Yatra from Chennimalai Thirupur Kumaran Illam. In this event Modakurichi MLA Dr. C. Saraswati attended.
Then the yathra went to Odanilai-Theeran Chinnamalai, Nallamangapalayam - Pollan and Kodumudi -KB Sundarambal. In this event film directors R.K. Selvamani, R.V. Udayakumar, Perarasu, Lingusamy, Chitra Lakshmanan, Seenu Ramasamy, Ravi Maria, Mitran Javahar, Arunraja, Kamaraj Rajasekhar and BJP Erode South District President V.C.Vedanandam, executives and members of the party were present.
