FLO Chennai commemorates 30 years with book 'Pride of FLO'

FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) Chennai, founded by Ms. Indira Dutt in 1993, is a national body headquartered in Delhi with over 10,000 members in 19 states. The organization promotes empowerment and skilling in women from all strata of society through its various chapters. The Pride Of FLO Chennai event celebrates 30 years of FLO Chennai, which has impacted the lives of over 4 lakh women from all strata, including rural villages. FLO initiatives include upskilling women to earn an independent livelihood, enabling school dropouts to get placements, and supporting differently abled women in finding gainful employment. The organization has had five National Presidents, including the current FLO National President, Ms. Sudha Shivkumar, hailing from the Chennai Chapter. Raji Raju, the 30th chairperson, took pride in facilitating the past Chairpersons who laid the foundation for the organization. The event was graced by Ms. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, and Ms. Sudha Shivkumar, who was honored for her contribution. Dr. GSK Velu, FICCI President of Tamil Nadu, was the special guest.
