Ganga spine rehab centre leads inclusive celebration on Yoga Day

Ganga spine injury rehabilitation centre observed the 11th International Yoga Day with a theme ‘Yoga for one earth, one health’ at his premises in the district. It was not just an event but a step towards healing, dignity, and self-belief for wheel-chair bound patients and spinal cord injury survivors.
The session that was led by centre’s yoga instructor Sharmila, featured adaptive yoga, tailored for limited mobility. For patients in wheelchairs, yoga helps strengthen the upper body, improve posture, enhance breathing, reduce anxiety, and restore emotional balance. It becomes a powerful tool for reconnecting with one’s body, mind, and sense of control.
Chairman of Ganga hospital, Dr S Rajasekaran said, “Yoga bridges the gap between limitation and liberation. At Ganga, it’s an essential part of recovery that is beyond just the physical.”
Yoga sessions are being conducted twice every week at the centre.
