Golden jubilee celebration at cardiology dept of GKNM

The cardiology department at GKNM hospital celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday and Sunday. The event marked their dedicated service, innovation, and leadership in cardiac care.
To commemorate the event, MP CN Manjunath released a coffee table book that chronicles the 50 years journey of the department, showcasing landmark movements and achievements.
The hospital also organized a conference, which was attended by medical experts across the globe. Over 250 delegates including leading physicians and cardiologists attended the event.
Dr Samin K Sharma, director of interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai hospital, USA, and Dr Graham Hillis, head of the department of cardiology at the Royal Perth hospital, Australia delivered keynote addresses.
Manjunath and Dr Graham Hillis were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their outstanding contributions to the field of cardiology.
Reinforcing our commitment to community well-being, the department also launched the Heart Emergency Learning Program (HELP) , a community awareness initiative aimed at training the public in Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques. This program aspires to empower citizens to respond effectively during cardiac emergencies and potentially save lives. This milestone is not just a celebration of the past, but a renewed pledge to continue advancing cardiac care and community health in the years to come.
