Good Person will alone become Good Advocate: SC Judge

Good person will alone become a good advocate, said SC judge MM Sundaresh.
He unveiled the portrait of late senior advocate K Chinnasamy at the centenary celebration of him arranged by the Erode Bar Association at the Vellalar College of Education, Erode, on Sunday, in the presence of Bar president D Eswaramoorthi and Secretary CPS Sankar. 

In his speech, the judge cited the various services of Chinnasamy in the field of law,  education, social service etc and advised lawyers to follow the ideals of such great persons. Quoting from ancient literatures like Thirukkural,  Purananuru, and Mahabaratham etc,  he said moral values,  humanism, professional ethics should be followed to become a successful lawyer.  

It is difficult for anyone to convince others to accept his views. So, advocate profession is a difficult one and one could become a successful lawyer only if he is able to convince the court  of law,  his client, his opponent lawyer to ensure justice. He also narrated a story to differentiate professional ethics and humanitarianism and insisted the need of helping others without ascertaining whether the needy helped us or not, rich or poor etc. 

 Chinnasamy was a successful lawyer all along his life only because of following such great ideals without hurting the feelings of even his opponent counsels and others.
