Former Kerala Governor and SC Chief Judge P Sathasivam hinted that if the Governor and the Chief Minister work harmoniously and smoothly, various welfare schemes can be provided to the people without directly mentioning the conflict between CM and Governor in TN.
"When I was in office, I worked as the Governor of Kerala very harmoniously and socially with Umman Chandi, who was the Chief Minister in the Congress alliance, and Pinarayi Vijayan, who was the CM in the Marxist alliance, and provided many good programmes for the people,'' he recalled while speaking as chief guest in the Platinum Jubilee celebration of Kerala Samajam and its Onam celebration held at Erode Parimalam Mahal on Sunday. Sathasivam, native of Erode district, said '' I have a close relationship with my Malayalam friends.
The Malayalis protected me when I served in the Supreme Court for about 30 years. When I was in office, we acted as family friends of Chief Ministers. All of them are elected by the people, and the programmes that can be brought for the people cannot be stopped by the Governor.Accordingly as the Governor of Kerala, I and the Chief Minister have jointly provided many programmess for the people. Seeing this, the Central government has advised other Governors to follow our practice'', he added.
