A petition has been filed before the Madras High Court seeking their intervention to remove RN Ravi from the Tamil Nadu Governor post as many of the government files were pending before him for a long time. The petition was filed by Kancheepuram district secretary of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) Kannadasan.
In the petition, he said, “Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has been creating issues out of nothing ever since he took charge on September 18, 2021. He speaks highly about Sanathana Dharma and against Dravidian ideologies in the public meetings.
He refuses to give his assent to almost all the documents that the state government submits before him. Without any valid reasons, the files are pending before him for a long time now.”Further, the petitioner pointed out that the Governor was appointed as the chairman of Auroville foundation in Puducherry.
As per the bylaws of the foundation, the chairman is entitled to get salary and pension and it is against the Constitution which clearly states that the Governor should not be in any post which is entitled to financial benefits, he added.
“As he had acted in violation of the Indian Constitution and against his oath, he should be removed immediately from the Governor post,” he added. On behalf of the petitioner, senior advocate Duraisamy filed the petition and it is expected to be listed for hearing at the earliest.
