Govt staff, teachers stages stir

Many Members of Federation of TN all government officials , teachers and local body associations led by the TN graduate teachers kazhagam state general secretary T Somadundaram and federation of TN state all corporation officials associations state president V Radhakrishnan staged a demonstration in the Erode collectorate urging the DMK government to fulfil its poll promises including restoration of old pension scheme, filling up of all vacancies, regularisation of contract, consolidated, noonmeal, amganwadi staff, removal of pay anomalies of teachers, payment of pay commission's 21 month pay arrears, pay on par with central staff, etc. To press the demands, the unions would observe fast at Chennai on Feb 15 and start indefinite strike from Feb 26. Federation functionaries A Ravichandran, M Indirakumar, T Subramaniam, K Vengidu and M Kandasamy, D Gunasekaran, Vengidusamy, V Usharani, K Bagyaraj, S Somasundaram, Senthilvelan, K Devi, Sridharan, and Shanmugam attended.
