Graduation day in VCW

 The regional joint director for collegiate education, Coimbatore, Dr R Ulagi attended as chief guest at the Graduation Day of the Vellalar College for Women, Erode, on Monday.

 She handed over degree certificates to 1484 UG and 426 PG students for the academic year 2017-20 and 2018-20 respectively. 23 students who topped the examination in UG and 14 students in PG were awarded gold medals. In her speech, she said that ''in the changing technological world, women should adhere to virtues with unchanging character and live with high goals not only for the family but also for the benefit of the society.

 The younger society should live with positive thoughts and avoid the effects caused by environmental degradation, global warming etc.''  The secretary of the college S.D.Chandrasekhar presided. Principal Dr. SK Jayanthi read the annual report of the college.  Treasurer BKP Arun, Executive Committee members K. Chinnaswamy, SNK Kulasekaran, Examination Control Officer Dr. R. Parvathy attended the function.
