Olirum Erode Foundation (OEF) planted 15,000 saplings during the past 49 days at a project cost of Rs 9.10 lakhs on 7 acres of HR &CE land owned by the Chennimalai temple located on the road from Chennimalai to Oothukuli.
Drip irrigation was set up so that each sapling received water.
The OEF has launched the project as the first phase of its efforts to create a Green Erode.
Erode District Collector Rajagopal Sunkara, Erode District Project Monitoring Officer G.Prakash witnessed the completion of the project.
HR&CE Joint Commissioner A.T. Paranjyoti, Assistant Commissioner Annakkodi, OEF M. Chinnaswamy, Vice President CD Venkateswaran, Secretary S. Ganesan, Environment Committee Chairman B. Dharmaraj, Assistant Chairman A. Yogesh Kumar, President of Ottaparai Panchayat Sumathi Thangavel and other government officials were present.
