GRGSMS starts CIP

GRG School of Management Studies (GRGSMS), PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, inaugurated its first community immersion programme (CIP) at Navakkarai, Coimbatore, on 24th September 2022. The chief guest of the programme was Mr Balakumar Thangavelu, India Head-Outreach, Cognizant Foundation.  The inaugural event had an august gathering from GRG School of Management Studies, NGO ‘Namma Navakkarai’, representatives from Navakkarai village and other NGO’s. 

Dr P. Sadhasivam, Director, GRGSMS, Prof S Balasubramanian, Director, GRGCAS, Mrs Gomathi Senthil Kumar, President, Mavuthampathy Panchayat ,Mr N S Maheshwaran, President, Namma Navakkarai,,Dr Savitha Nair, Dean, GRGSMS and Dr R Initha Rina, CIP Coordinator addressed the gathering.

In the CIP programme, Students of GRG School of Management Studies would be volunteering in various environmental and social projects to bring about positive changes in the villages of Mavuthampathy Panchayat.

The 6  projects taken up by students are Vanam development program, Water bodies  management, Agriculture development, Waste management, Self Help Group development and Skill development for tribal school students. The student project groups also visited the villages, farms, water bodies, Vanam- area of afforestation and  a government tribal school to observe the need of the villages.
