Grievance redressal camp for students held at Coimbatore

A special grievance redressal camp for students regarding higher education admissions was held at district collectorate on Friday. It was presided over by district collector Pavankumar K Giriyappanavar.
In this camp, Chief Education Officer Balamurali, Assistant Director of the Skill Development Department Valarmathi, Counselor Vanangamudi, Lead Bank Manager Jeethendran and others attended along with more than 150 students and parents. About 55 petitions regarding bank loans, certificates, educational assistance, and NEET training were received.
“Various measures have been taken to guide students who completed class XII, towards pursuing higher education. Accordingly, after the examination results were announced, college dream programme was conducted, and in which, more than 3,500 students participated,” the collector said, pointing out that the district has more than 175 colleges including arts and science colleges, engineering colleges, medical colleges, agricultural colleges, government polytechnic colleges, and nursing colleges.
“Allied Health Science is a course that includes various disciplines in the medical field that support doctors. These courses offer good employment opportunities. To apply for these courses, students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 12th standard,” he said.
Releasing a book, he said, “the book contains information on which colleges offer which types of courses, how many seats are available, and whom to contact. Students who appeared for the class XII, XI, and X public exams were given information about the necessary certificates, government-related assistance, and government-provided guidance for higher education admissions through officers from the school education department, higher education department, skill development department, and banks.”
