Guest worker dies after being hit by a speeding car at Coimbatore

A tragic accident occurred on Avinashi Road near Peelamedu, Coimbatore, on Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of a guest worker. The incident involved a speeding car driven by a plus two student, which crashed into the cement blocks of the centre median and burst into flames.
The student was trapped inside the car but was rescued by nearby construction workers. The city police have registered a case against the student, his father, who allowed him to drive the car, and his grandfather, who owned the car.
The deceased has been identified as Akshay Vera (23), from Jamboni village in the Jhargram district of West Bengal. In response to the incident, the city police commissioner has announced that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
