Health Min conducts surprise inspections at Omalur and Yercaud Government Hospitals

Tamil Nadu Health Minister M.Subramanian conducted a surprise inspection at the Omalur and Yercaud Government Sub- District Hospitals on Sundayevening. The Minister, had arrived  in Salem to inaugurate newly built sub-health centers across various locations in Salem district.
At around 5:15 PM, Minister Subramanian visited the Yercaud hospital and inquired about the health of a patient receiving treatment for a leg fracture. He also discussed the hospital's facilities with the medical officer, Kumar Selva.
During his inspection, the Minister raised concerns over the lack of deliveries at the hospital since April. Medical officers attributed the issue to the absence of an obstetrician, who had been on maternity leave. In response, a doctor from Edappadi Government Hospital had been visiting Yercaud once a week. Minister Subramanian instructed that the frequency of these visits be increased to two days per week.
Following the hospital visit, the Minister traveled to the Kondaiyanur hill village, where he engaged with residents to assess the reach of healthcare services in remote areas. He ensured that mobile medical services were adequately provided to all villages.
The surprise inspection was accompanied by MP Malaiarasan from Kallakurichi and Yercaud's district medical officer, Thomson, among others. The Minister reviewd various services and facilities at the Omalu District Hospital.
