Heavy rush in medical camp in Ungaludan Stalin

Heavy rush is seen in the medical camp held at the Ungaludan Stalin camp held at Thangam Mahal Erode on Tuesday.
In all Ungaludan Stalin camps, 2 doctors, 1 pharmacist and 5 health staff were posted. But in the camp at Thangam Mahal, 2 allopathic, 1 eye doctor, 1 sidha, 1 TB and one leprosy inspectors were posted, so that the crowd was high. Block Medical Officer Dr Kailasam, medical Officer Dr Vijayakumar and Sidha Dr Soundarrajan said that the response to all camps was much good. Many do not know their inherent diseases. But, in the camp, their ailments, especially BP and diabetes, which could cause many diseases, were detected. Around 40 percent of visitors were detected with BP or Diabetes. They were given medicines and referred to the PHCs or GH for further treatment. On the basis of the complaints of women, they were referred to the gynaecologist in nearby government hospitals. They would also be insisted to go to hospital or to the Nalam Kakkum Stalin camps held on every Saturday in which 17 specialists with ECG and other modern medical equipment. In general, 3 or 4 Varumun Kappom medical camps were held in each block every year. It is also more useful to public. Those who are getting medicines under the Illam Thedi Maruthuvam scheme also visit the Ungaludan Stalin medical camp for general health check up. Normally, treatment in private hospital and buying medicines there is more costly. So, the government medical camps are boon to poor people, they added.
