Herd of elephants drink water from a water tank in coimbatore Veerapandi Pudur

As Tamil Nadu grapples with scorching temperatures exceeding 100°F, the Coimbatore district has witnessed a depletion in water levels, compelling wild animals to venture out of the forests in search of water sources. In response, the residents of Moolakadu, a hilly village near the Veerapandi Pudur lake, have taken a compassionate initiative.

They've installed a water tank on the outskirts of the village, providing a watering hole for wild animals and birds. Yesterday evening more than 10 wild elephants, including calves, gathered at the water tank to quench their thirst. The scene was captured on video by a local resident and has since gone viral.
