Hindi imposition: True face of BJP sees light

Hindi imposition: True face of BJP sees light

Tamil Nadu has been strongly opposing the imposition of Hindi even before the country gained its independence. People of Tamil Nadu have expressed their opposition against Hindi imposition in multiple ways. Many have even sacrificed their lives in protest against Hindi imposition.
Earlier, Hindi was imposed as the official language of the union government. Now, political parties allege that the union government is trying to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu in the name of New Education Policy and three-language policy.
Due to Hindi imposition in Northern parts of the country, native languages of many states including   Rajasthan and Bihar, have vanished silently, and Hindi has taken over their place, according to educationists and political leaders including DMK chief and chief minister MK Stalin.
But supporters including the BJP members say that Hindi can be learned as a third language. To which, leaders answer that their intention is not to prevent people from learning Hindi, and Hindi Prachar Sabha has been operating in the state’s capital for over 75 years.
The news from Maharashtra has justified the fears of the political leaders. The news is that Hindi has been made mandatory in schools as the third language under the new education policy by the ruling BJP government.
The same style can be used to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu, as well. The true face of the union government has come to light. The news has justified the protests and opposition of Tamil Nadu leaders and people, by confirming that the union government has been trying to impose Hindi in the state in the name of the new education policy and three-language policy.
That’s why Stalin, while speaking at an event in Tiruvallur on Friday, severely criticized the stance of the union government, and stated that Tamil Nadu will never surrender to Delhi’s rule.
It is no exaggeration to say that we are fortunate to have Stalin as our chief minister who has been protecting our state from Hindi imposition.
