As part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Indian Union Muslim League, the All India Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (AIKMCC) played a significant role in facilitating the marriages of 23 underprivileged women from various faiths in Coimbatore. The event, held in Kuniayamuthur, marked a unique celebration where Hindu, Muslim, and Christian couples exchanged vows on the same stage.
AIKMCC's initiative extends beyond Coimbatore, as they have previously sponsored the marriages of over 40 underprivileged women in Chennai and Trichy, aligning with the celebration of IUML's 75 years of existence.
The event drew attendees from various regions, including Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, Pudukottai, and Chennai, who came to bless the newlywed couples.
The couples received gifts worth Rs. 2 lakhs including home appliances and 10 grams of gold.
Additionally, they were presented with religious books corresponding to their faith. Among the 23 couples, 6 were from the Hindu community, 3 were Christians, and 14 were Muslims.
