Honorarium for women will be announced soon: CM

Honorarium for women will be announced soon: CM

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday said that his government would announce Rs 1,000 monthly honorarium for women family heads in the upcoming budget session in March. He made the announcement while campaigning for Congress candidate EVKS Elangovan at the Erode East by-election. The Chief Minister started the campaign at 9 am at Sampath Nagar. He then spoke near Gandhi statue at Karungalpalayam after passing through Periya Valasu, Bharathi theatre road, bus stand and Masjid Street. The campaign ends by 5 pm that day.

Addressing the gathering, he said, “At a time when Thirumagan Eevera, who had been working efficiently on behalf of the state government, passed away due to cardiac arrest.  Now, to fill the vacancy, his father EVKS Elangovan is contesting in the by-poll. Now, it is our responsibility to bring victory to him. Erode is the bastion of the DMK.

Even though Karunanidhi had born in Thiruvarur, Erode is the place where he learnt to live.`` Pointing out that the DMK government has been fulfilling its electoral promises one after another, he said that Tamil Nadu is the only place which offers free rides to women in its buses, implemented several role model schemes including Chief Minister in your constituency and I am the Chief minister, formed a welfare board for newspersons, and announced Kalaignar Ezhuthukol award and Periyar’s birthday as social justice day.

By following the footprints of Periyar, the Dravidian model government has made it possible for everyone irrespective of their caste to become priests at the temple. “I don’t give false information by claiming that we have fulfilled all the poll promises.  But the opposition leader should read newspapers or speak directly with officials to know how many promises were implemented in this government.

Stalin Said

If only the financial situation of the state was good, we would have announced the monthly honorarium for women a long ago. But still, we have decided to make that announcement in the upcoming budget session in March. It is my ambition to get NEET exemption within my period,” he said.

The election has become a weighing scale to evaluate the works of the government, he said, requesting the public to give them a fair judgement.  “In the assembly election, Thirumagan Eevera won by a margin of 9,000 votes. But in this election, the public should ensure that the AIADMK candidate loses his deposit,” he added.
The Chief Minister also with EVKS Elangovan interacted with the public at Sampath Nagar and persuaded them to vote for the latter.

He also addressed the gathering at 12 pm at Agraharam after travelling through KNK Salai and Mulapattarai.
He returned to the guest house of Sakthi Sugars.  After taking a short break, he is speaking at Municipal colony around 3 pm.  He winds up his campaign at 3:45 pm at Periyar nagar after visiting Panneerselvam park.
