Rotaract district organization 3201 in association with Sri Sakthi college of engineering and technology has entered the India books of records on Saturday by forming a massive human chain event to create awareness about women’s safety at L and T Bypass in the district.
They have created a women’s safety awareness campaign with the theme, ‘Stand for her’, and as a part of it, 3,000 people have signed the petition. All Rotaract clubs in the district took part in the
event.
A digital application with a police helpline number was also launched at the event. The event was recorded and sent to the India Book of Records.
Rotary District Governor nominee Rotarian MT Maruthi was the chief guest of the event.
Rotarian MD Fredricks John, district Rotaract chair; Rotarian MD Godwin Maria Visuwasa, district president – youth service; Rotarian MD Varadarajan, district chair – public image; Ravikumar, president of Rotary Coimbatore city; Thangavelu, chairman of Sri Shakthi College of Engineering; and Sakthivel, Principal of the college, attended the
event.
The event was organized by Rotaractor Thanghapantieyaan, district Rotaract representative, Rotaractor Karthick, district chairman of the Rotaract district, and Rotaract representatives Sathish, Gogul, and
Vijay.
