Indecent politics: Put an end to it!

Tiruvarur BJP leader was arrested on complaint of impersonation in university examination. BJP's state vice president K.P Ramalingam was arrested for breaking the lock of Bharat Mata Temple in Dharmapuri. Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party's name is involved in a series of controversies like throwing shoes at Tamil Nadu Finance Minister P.T.R Palanivel Thiagarajan's vehicle in Madurai.

Reporters asked BJP Tamil Nadu President Annamalai, who came to Rameswaram, about the controversy faced by the Tamil Nadu wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the last 48 hours. He made his party's stand clear on every issue.

 Journalists asked Annamalai if the incident in which a shoe was thrown at Tamil Nadu Finance Minister P.T.R Palanivel Thyagarajan's car in Madurai on Saturday was pre-planned.

 Annamalai replied,``Before I went there, some members of our party threw shoes at the Tamil Nadu Finance Minister's car. My opinion is that the incident should not have happened. 

Also, according to BJP's ideology, that event should not have happened. I have been insisting that BJP people should be patient and not  engage in such activities". Annamalai said that the BJP will never accept the incident where a shoe was thrown on the Tamil Nadu Finance Minister's car yesterday.

Expressing regret for the mistake made by his party members, Annamalai did not forget to give a false justification. He said that this  happened in response to the fact that the minister's speech brought the party members to a boiling mood. 

Political commentators believe that his statement gives more encouragement to his party members to engage in indecency.   

Pointing out that a foot wear was thrown at the minister's car, which had the national flag hoisted on it, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has warned that such actions in Tamil Nadu will face severe legal consequences. Looking at all this, there is a fear that political civilization in Tamil Nadu will become questionable. 

We need to know and act on the political culture practiced by leaders like Perundalaivar Kamaraj, Perarinjar Anna and Kalainar in the past. It is the political opposition that manifests opposition through decent and legal means that will find victory.

Bullying politics will never win. Put an end to it!
