INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM PLAYED AT ISRAELI GOVERNMENT EVENT — VIDEO GOES VIRAL

The Indian National Anthem was played at an official event in Israel marking the 107th anniversary of the historic Battle of Haifa (1918), and a video of the emotional tribute has gone viral on social media.

The ceremony, organized to commemorate Israel’s liberation from the Ottoman Empire, was attended by Indian Ambassador to Israel Jitender Pal Singh (J.P. Singh) along with senior officials from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). As part of the tribute, the Israeli Police Band performed the Indian national anthem, honoring the courage of Indian soldiers who fought in the battle.

Sharing the video on Facebook, the Indian Embassy in Israel wrote, “We proudly commemorate the valor and courage of the Indian cavalrymen from Jodhpur, Mysore, and the erstwhile Hyderabad State who liberated Haifa in 1918.”

Speaking further on the occasion, Indian Ambassador J.P. Singh said, “More than 74,000 Indian soldiers were killed during the First World War. Even today, Indian soldiers serving in the UN peacekeeping forces in Israel are engaged in security duties. Their dedication continues to strengthen the spirit of peace and cooperation between our nations.”

The Battle of Haifa, fought on September 23, 1918, saw the Jodhpur Lancers, Mysore Lancers, and Hyderabad Lancers — under the command of Major Dalpat Singh Shekhawat, who was martyred in battle, and later Lt. Col. Aman Singh Jodha — play a decisive role in liberating the city from Ottoman control.

The tribute has received widespread praise online, symbolizing the enduring friendship between India and Israel and honoring the legacy of Indian soldiers whose bravery continues to inspire generations.
