IndianOil, India's leading energy major, has launched STORM-X, a high-octane racing fuel designed for racing cars. The launch took place at the Madras International Circuit during the Indian National Car Racing Championship. This event also marked the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between IndianOil and the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC), aimed at advancing motorsports in India.
The launch event was attended by V. Satish Kumar, Director (Marketing), IndianOil, who unveiled the STORM-X logo. He was joined by Alok Sharma, Director (R&D), IndianOil, and MMSC officials including President Ajit Thomas, Secretary Prabha Shankar, and Vice President Vicky Chandhoke. Under this collaboration, IndianOil will supply race fuels and lubricants and provide branding for the Indian National Racing Championships (INRC).
V. Satish Kumar highlighted IndianOil’s history of pioneering high-quality fuels and lubricants, including the launch of India’s first 100 Octane fuel, XP100, and the introduction of XTRAGREEN diesel. He also mentioned IndianOil's role as the title sponsor of MotoGP Bharat 2023 and its partnership with FIM for the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) from 2024 to 2026.
Ajit Thomas, President of MMSC, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasising its potential to enhance the quality and competitiveness of motorsports in India.
STORM-X, designed to meet FIA regulations, boasts a high RON of ~98, leading to better combustion and more power while incorporating sustainable components to reduce carbon footprint. This innovative fuel balances performance, compliance, and environmental responsibility, making it ideal for high-performance racing cars globally.
