District collector K Tharpagaraj conducted an inspection at Polur taluk under the ‘Ungalai thedi, ungal ooril’ scheme in the district on Thursday.
Under the scheme, government officials visit the houses of residents every month to identify and address their grievances. Schools, colleges, public ration shops, hospitals, bus stands and government offices are inspected on a regular basis.
During the inspection, he noticed that students were using Kalaignar sports equipment at Kangeyanur panchayat union primary school, and played volleyball with students. He also asked DRDA officials to handover the equipment properly to schools. He also examined the reading and writing skills of students. The collector, then, inspected the liquid bio-fertilizer production centre that is being operated by the agriculture department in Vasur panchayat, and checked its quality. He also inspected the Polur integrated agriculture extension centre and farm produce warehouse.
JD of agriculture department Kannagi, district health officers Prakash and Sathish, joint secretary (cooperatives) Parthiban, general manager of district industrial centre Ravi, and other officials were present.
