The Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Inter-Collegiate Competition on "Organic Living for Environmental Sustainability" was successfully conducted at Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS), Coimbatore. The event brought together students, faculty, and dignitaries, emphasizing the significance of sustainability and civic responsibility.
Key highlights include: VV Ganesh, Divisional LPG Sales Head, IOC Ltd., Coimbatore, highlighted Indian Oil Corporation's (IOC) environmental initiatives, particularly their tree plantation projects.
CM Jayaraman, President, Citizens Voice Coimbatore (CVC), proposed a joint initiative with IOC to involve students in tree plantation and maintenance, with an award for the best-maintained college campus. Mr. Ganesh accepted the proposal, ensuring future collaboration. Srihari Manohar, Head of Lyca Kovai Kings, emphasized Lyca’s commitment to supporting youth beyond cinema and sports and pledged future collaboration with CVC.
The Dean of KCLAS commended CVC’s 40 years of contributions and welcomed continued partnerships for student development.
Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, and Dr. C. Deepesh, Vice Principal of KCLAS, were unable to attend, but the event was a resounding success with meaningful discussions and initiatives.
