Inter-District state level Basketball Championship begins in Coimbatore

Inter-District State Level Basketball Championship for Under-16,  jointly organized by the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association and the Coimbatore District Basketball Association, began on March 29.
Coimbatore District Collector Mr. K. Pawankumar G. Kiriyappavanar attended the inaugural the event. Bharathi Institution, Chairman, Mr. A. Sanjeev Anand, Mr. G. Selvaraj, President of Coimbatore District Basketball Association and Managing Director of Coimbatore CRI Pumps,  Mr. C. Anand, Vice President of Coimbatore District basketball Association, presided.
A total of 41 teams participated. The tournament will be held as a league tournament for the first three days and as a knockout tournament for the last two days. These competitions held for 5 days at the Coimbatore Dist. Basketball Association Ground and the YMCA Basketball ground on Avinashi Road. 
The winning team will be awarded a trophy. 12 students will be selected to play for the Tamil Nadu state level team.
The selected students will be eligible to play in the National Level Basketball Tournament to be held in Pondicherry from April 8 to 15.
