International day of persons with disabilities observed

International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2022 was observed by the Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women on December 20. T
The Chief Guest Dr.Premavathy Vijayan, Former Vice Chancellor of the institute spoke on the topic, "Transformative Solutions for Inclusive Development: The Role of Innovation in Fuelling an Accessible and Equitable World."

In her speech, Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor stressed the identification of individual abilities among the differently abled and also emphasized their needs, rights and equal opportunities of them.  Dr. S. Kowsalya, Registrar,  felicitated the audience. Dr. G. Victoria Naomi, Professor & Dean, School of Education, greeted the gathering. Dr. K. Sambathrani, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Special Education, welcomed the gathering. 

Finally, the programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. K. Kalaivani, Assistant Professor in Special Education. Various events were held by diffabled and prizes were distributed.
